1. I read Katy and Lindsey's pages. Katy has an 8 year old daughter. Lindsey is working on her Bachelor's degree requirements and plans to transfer to Cal Poly.
2. I learned from Katy that Paulo Freire believed we can over come societal problems by learning, unity and organization. I learned from Lindsey that Freire believed in a dialog between student and teacher that emphasized the pupil's background knowledge, experiences, personal situations and environment.
3. These ideas deffinately relate to our study of humanities! By learning about the world and eachother, we will have more understanding and empathy for people in other cultures. This leads to unity among eachother and the world around us. The concept of dialog is what we are doing in our blogs. We will relate to the information we read and study, as well as eachother's blogs. We will most likely share our experiences, which will provide us with a deeper understanding of how despite all our differences in background and experiences, we have much in common.
